L'HAUMEA
About This Spot
Stepping into L'HAUMEA, perched quietly along Dieppe’s bustling quay, you’re met with a gentle calm that feels both familiar and a little special. This is the sort of place where the world slows down just enough for you to notice the subtle rhythms of the harbor—the lapping water, distant calls of seabirds, and the soft murmur of conversation shaded by the historic chalk cliffs that frame the view.
The atmosphere here is easygoing yet carefully curated, inviting you to settle in without rush. The pace feels unhurried, a hint of seaside leisure wrapped in the quiet attentiveness of a thoughtful host. L'HAUMEA balances the liveliness of a well-loved waterfront hub with a personal warmth that makes you feel part of the local tapestry rather than a passing tourist.
At the heart of the experience lies the food—unscripted and honest, shaped by the day’s catch and regional flavors. Sharing a planche de la mer or savoring a delicately seasoned filet with a lemony sauce feels less like ordering and more like discovering a story on your plate. Dishes arrive with a care that’s evident in their fresh, vibrant presentation and balanced flavors, enhanced by house-made touches that speak to tradition without fuss.
Beyond the food, the service is quietly thoughtful, attentive without intrusion, as if the team anticipates needs before they arise. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely lunch in the sun-soaked terrace or a relaxed evening with a carefully mixed Negroni in hand, there’s an easy hospitality that invites you to linger, savor, and simply be.
L'HAUMEA doesn’t shout for attention—it earns it in moments like these, where a child’s simple request for plain fries is met with understanding, or where a shared dessert becomes a small celebration of connection. It’s a place that quietly honors the flavors of Dieppe’s waters and the human stories that come with every meal.

This is a bit different from some of the other touristy quayside restaurants serving cheap frozen food. We had a delicious good value, beautifully presented meal, and the staff were incredibly efficient, friendly and attentive. I would love to come back here next time I'm in Dieppe!

We had a lovely lunch sitting in the sun at this harbour side restaurant. We had the menu of the day being fish terrine followed by fresh merlut on a bed of creamy veg. Both were delicious. And the chocolate mousse was perfect, all washed down with a carafe of gorgeous rose

Suberb & fresh sea food! We had shrimps, cod and ray. Excellent! But what we liked most was the friendly owner/waiter, who seemed to understand just what our children (<10) needed: no seafood, but plain fries & chicken nuggets… An extra plate of green salad as an entree for the kids (vitamins…): no problem. Sharing our dessert with the kids: no problem. Thanks you!!!

A jewel in the crown of the harbour front. Cocktails excellent (try the Negroni) and the food fresh and beautifully made. Generous portions and a beautiful balance of flavours and textures. This is a big step up from the Moules Frites that so many others churn out. Well worth reserving to get a prime place on the terrace.

Lovely sunny Sunday evening in Dieppe. The restaurant is in a wonderful spot with views of the chalk hillside, the church and the port. The food was delicious and the lady serving us was friendly, attentive and ver charming even tough she was very busy. We loved our meal.
